A deck company sounds like every other deck company until someone hears why this one was started. A homepage rarely has room for that, and a bid sheet never does.
Dream Decks' video is the founder telling it. He says he has loved working with his hands since he was a boy. At 13 he worked with a custom home builder in Vermont, and that is where he says he found carpentry. He worked as an apprentice, then a journeyman, on the way to a degree in applied science and carpentry. He says he learned hard work, integrity, customer satisfaction, and how to build something safe that would last. He says he started the company in 2009 so families could have outdoor space they would actually use. He talks about the people on the crew as whole people, not just someone who clocks in, and he says they take their time, use quality materials, and stand behind the work. When they show up, he says, they are there to learn how the family lives and how they want to entertain, and then to help pick colors and a design. Two homeowners then tell their own version. One says friends referred them, the portfolio came out about two weeks later, and by the time the deck was done they knew they had chosen the right company. Another says they talked to four other deck companies first. They say Dream Decks was less than those companies, and the only one that would put a curve on the end and hold the lower part of the deck with two beams, so the view of the woods stayed open. They say the company custom-engineered that beam, and that the finished deck raised the value of the property. Those are the customers talking in the video. The founder comes back for the last word. The smile when someone walks out and sees the deck is the best part of his day, and the company is there to listen well and deliver well. The video ends on dreamdecks.com.
Another builder hiring Beacon for this kind of video is buying a place where the founder and two customers can say why this company is different, in the time a homepage will not give them. The estimate can still go out as a number. This is the video a homeowner can watch before that number shows up.
Dream Decks did not need a montage of finished decks. They needed the founder, and then the people who hired him, to tell it. That is what this video is for.

[00:00.000] Ever since I was a young boy, I've always loved working with my hands.
[00:04.000] There was a freedom and joy I had building things and seeing them being used.
[00:09.000] When I was 13 years old, I was given an opportunity to work with a custom home builder in the state of Vermont.
[00:14.000] It was there that I discovered my passion for carpentry,
[00:17.000] and any day that I could hammer a nail or cut a board was just a great day.
[00:22.000] Over the next several years, I worked as an apprentice and then a journeyman carpenter,
[00:26.000] honing my skills and working on large projects as I worked towards a degree in applied science and carpentry.
[00:32.000] All through my journey, I learned about hard work, integrity, customer satisfaction,
[00:37.000] and how to build safe quality structures that would last.
[00:40.000] There's something inside all of us that wants to create and work with our hands,
[00:44.000] and I just couldn't get enough.
[00:46.000] So in 2009, I started DreamDeafs to help families build their dreams and create outdoor spaces that families could enjoy together,
[00:54.000] because that's what makes me come alive.
[00:57.000] I love using the gifts I've been given to design truly one-of-a-kind DreamDeafs that makes a statement of craftsmanship and artistry.
[01:24.000] Over the years, I've built a team of incredible people who share the same vision and have the same passion as I do.
[01:35.000] They're adventurers, craftsmen, fathers, husbands, sons, and outdoor enthusiasts.
[01:41.000] It's an honor to work alongside of people who care about serving others as I do.
[01:45.000] When I look for people to join our team, I consider the whole person, their story, their life, and not just a person who clocks in every day.
[01:53.000] It's about finding the right fit and having the same passion as I do.
[01:57.000] We take our time and do things right the first time, and use quality materials, and we stand behind our work.
[02:04.000] We pay attention to the smallest of details that help bring your deck to life.
[02:09.000] We want to give people a setting for creating amazing memories outdoors with their families,
[02:14.000] a place where the rest of the world just fades away, and the beauty of the present moment is forever etched in their memory.
[02:21.000] When we show up at your home and start the custom design process, we're on a quest.
[02:25.000] A quest to find out the rhythm of your lifestyle, your wants and needs, and how you want to entertain your family or guests.
[02:31.000] We listen to the ways you want to enjoy your outdoor space, and help you pick the colors and the design that will work for you.
[02:40.000] My husband and I, we were considering tearing off our old deck, and we wanted a new deck.
[02:46.000] And our friends had just built a home, and they had people over, and we were out on their deck,
[02:52.000] and we complimented on how awesome their deck was.
[02:56.000] And he referred us to Dream Decks, and they came out approximately two weeks later,
[03:02.000] and he had a complete portfolio, an extensive portfolio, and showed us all of his ideas.
[03:08.000] They had passion for what they were doing.
[03:11.000] They were extremely professional, and by the time that the deck was finished,
[03:16.000] we knew that we absolutely made the right decision with Dream Decks.
[03:21.000] When my wife and I needed to build a second-story deck on the back of our new home,
[03:25.000] we actually had interviewed four other deck companies before hiring Dream Decks.
[03:30.000] Dream Decks was not only less than the other companies,
[03:33.000] but they were the only company that would put a curve at the end of the deck that we wanted,
[03:38.000] and they were the only company that would just utilize two support beams in the lower section of the deck.
[03:44.000] We have a great view of the woods from down below our deck,
[03:47.000] and we didn't want a bunch of columns going all the way around, blocking that view.
[03:51.000] So they actually custom-engineered a support beam to take care of that,
[03:57.000] and the cabinet was cedar. It's absolutely beautiful.
[04:00.000] So not only is the deck gorgeous, but it's raised the value of our property as well.
[04:06.000] When the customer comes out of the house and sees what we just built,
[04:09.000] and has that big smile on their face, that's just the best moment of my day.
[04:13.000] It sounds so cliche to say under-promise and over-deliver,
[04:17.000] but that's why we're in business, to listen well and deliver well,
[04:20.000] and Dream Decks will always do that.
