Strasburg Railroad TV Spot
A family choosing a day out does not stop to read a charter from 1832. They want to know the ride is real, and a station break is all the time they will give it. Strasburg Railroad's spot is one minute. It puts the line in Lancaster County, across from the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, and it says the railroad dates to 1832 and still runs under its original charter. That is the job of a sponsor spot. The video is not a timetable. It is the reason to go: a steam whistle across the valley, vintage passenger cars, a 45-minute ride from Strasburg to Paradise, and a close that says experience the power of steam. Then it says the railroad is a proud sponsor of the PBS program, and it sends people to strasburgrailroad.com. Another attraction hiring Beacon for a spot like this is buying the minute that has to work while the program is still why someone is watching. The age of the railroad can live on a website. The video is what a sponsor gets to say before the show comes back. Strasburg did not need a longer history of the charter. They needed the place, the ride, and the address in one minute. That is what this video is for.
