A show about a mobile vet can talk about medicine and still miss why people keep watching. This piece is under four minutes, and it stays in the truck. Dr. Julia says her job is driving to houses and seeing pets where they live, with their owners. Jen schedules, stocks the truck, and holds the animals. Brian, who they call the daddy of the business, has rules about how the truck is driven, and they joke about how well they follow them. The title's promise is in the video. Dr. Julia says a day is not complete until Jen has been pooped or peed on, because restraining animals means wearing whatever they leave on you. Jen says she loves the job anyway.
A series hiring Beacon for a segment like this is buying the partnership, not the procedure. Surgery can be another episode. This one is the cab, the bumps, and the two of them giving each other a hard time.
They did not need a clinical demonstration. They needed Julia and Jen. That is what this video is for.

[00:00.000] My job is to drive around to people's houses and take care of their pets.
[00:13.520] It's really nice to get out and be able to drive around and see the environment, see
[00:18.040] outside and see other people.
[00:19.760] And the nice thing too is being able to see the pets in their own environment and see
[00:23.400] how they interact with their own owners.
[00:27.000] Sometimes you have to remind the girls that they're not driving a little sports car, but
[00:30.880] they're actually driving a big truck and they sometimes don't realize that.
[00:37.680] I see them going over bumps and stuff.
[00:40.280] I'm like, oh, no, you got to watch that.
[00:41.960] You got to be easy on it.
[00:44.360] Pull out very slowly so you don't spin the tires.
[00:49.760] Brian has given us very strict instructions on what we are and are not allowed to do with
[00:53.880] driving this truck.
[00:54.880] He's like the daddy of the business.
[00:58.880] He tells us what we can and can't do.
[01:00.880] And we listen sometimes.
[01:04.880] And we try to hide things, but he always finds out.
[01:09.880] They're getting better, but it was definitely a trial.
[01:12.880] They actually, they went to a parking lot when they first got the unit and first started up.
[01:16.880] And they toyed around backing the unit in so they could practice doing that.
[01:21.880] Oh there it was. Oh, turn around.
[01:23.880] Oh, you're missing again.
[01:25.880] Oh, you're good my way.
[01:30.880] Women just don't tend to get that for the most part.
[01:33.880] Wow, did he really just say that?
[01:37.880] But they're doing a really good job now.
[01:39.880] And at first I was a little scared.
[01:41.880] Now I'm much easier.
[01:43.880] Basically every day we get in the truck and we go to our house calls.
[01:47.880] I answer the phone and schedule appointments and just kind of help her out.
[01:51.880] We get everything stocked up in the truck and I help her to restrain the PES or to draw blood.
[01:58.040] Whenever we're getting ready for surgery, we pretty much, we're just a team and we work together very well.
[02:03.720] Look out, out of my way.
[02:08.680] I think we're the four top reaches.
[02:10.680] I know, goodness.
[02:14.600] Julie and I, we have a pretty good time at work. We always get on each other's case and give each other a hard time,
[02:19.080] but it just makes the work time fun.
[02:21.880] Oh, can you grab my peck?
[02:25.240] Please, thank you so much.
[02:28.600] You are just the best worker ever.
[02:32.240] Typically, in a veterinary hospital setting,
[02:35.040] the doctor just kind of sits back.
[02:36.520] But with me and Dr. Morrow, we just kind of do everything
[02:39.120] together, and we have a good time.
[02:42.080] A day is not complete until Jen's been pooped or peed on.
[02:45.760] Unfortunately, being the technician,
[02:47.320] her primary role is to restrain animals
[02:50.320] and therefore wear whatever they decide to put on her.
[02:55.920] That's a stinky honey bud.
[02:59.520] Every time we go to a call or we have a day
[03:03.240] that's here at calls and prayers,
[03:05.480] there's always something that I get on my clothes
[03:07.480] when I get home.
[03:08.320] My dogs love it because they always have something
[03:09.880] to smell when I get home.
[03:12.880] So they tend to just go.
[03:17.440] I end up playing, I don't know.
[03:20.320] I just love my job.
[03:22.320] I think this happens almost every day.
