A crew that has been burned by a hot kettle will not start a crack program if the filler has to be heated. UNIQUE needed a video that says this one comes out of the container, and that the lane does not stay closed all afternoon. Beacon made that a jobsite how-to, in about three and a half minutes.
The video says there is no hot kettle, so the burn risk of hot material is not part of the job, and that the area can be opened to traffic after about 30 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity. Those are the product's instructions and claims. They are not a Beacon field result. The label still governs the job. The video gives a small crew the order of work so the first pour is not a call back to the plant.
Another company hiring Beacon for a how-to is buying the video a distributor can hand over before the first jug is used. KOLD-FLO is the pourable filler for cracks that should not become potholes. A data sheet can list crack width, sand for a deep void, and how to squeegee. A worker with a bottle on a driveway usually will not read that far. The video can. It can live on the product page, in a dealer portal, or in the email that goes out with the first order.
UNIQUE did not need another line that says the filler is easy. They needed the crew to see that this job does not need a kettle, and that traffic is supposed to come back soon after the crack is filled. That is what this video is for.

[00:00.000] Cold Flow Poreable Crack Filler is a modified asphalt emulsion crack filler designed from the maintenance of asphalt pavements. It's ideal for roads, highways, parking lots and driveways. Unique developed Cold Flow Poreable Crack Filler is a cost effective repair solution that prevents cracks from becoming potholes by sealing them from the weather's destructive freeze and thaw cycles.
[00:36.600] Cold Flow Crack Filler has many advantages. It's ready to use right from the container. It's safe to apply because there are no hot kettles or materials, which eliminates burn injuries. It's cost effective because you can have smaller crews that need no special training or equipment. And it reduces traffic delays due to fast dry times.
[00:56.400] Before you use Cold Flow Crack Filler, clean out any debris, grass and weeds using a screwdriver or similar tool. Then sweep out the cracks using unique stiff which broom or relief blower. Keep in mind some cracks may be very deep and undermined, which will require backfill. To take care of this, partly fill the crack with clean dry sand or backer rod before filling the crack with Cold Flow Crack Filler. Using a small screwdriver or other tool, work the sand evenly into the crack, leaving a nice reservoir at the top to get plenty of room for Cold Flow Crack Filler to fill the remaining crack.
[01:32.480] Once the cracks are partly filled with sand, you're ready to fill the cracks with Cold Flow Crack Filler. Before using Cold Flow Crack Filler, make sure you shake or stir the product in case any separation has occurred during storage. Now pour Cold Flow Crack Filler into the crack using the one gallon bottle with applicator tip. Make sure you only pour along three quarters of the length of the crack, so excess crack filler can be squeezed into the remaining crack. Using a U-shaped or V-shaped squeegee, smooth out the excess Cold Flow Crack Filler, leveling it with the pavement and pushing the remaining Cold Flow Crack Filler that is built up in the reservoir of the squeegee into the remaining length of the crack.
[02:13.440] Once the Cold Flow Pourable Crack Filler has settled to the bottom of the crack, you may need to add a little more Cold Flow Crack Filler to completely fill the crack, then use the squeegee again to smooth out the crack filler so it's even with the pavement. Larger squeegees are available for commercial or industrial use. Cold Flow Pourable Crack Filler is intended for use in hairline cracks and joints up to one and a half inches wide. If your cracks are larger than this, use another product such as Micro Mix Mini Cold Mix or UPM Cold Mix. For commercial applications or large jobs, Cold Flow Pourable Crack Filler can also be applied to the pour pot or by using UNIQE's crack-and-tack pump with its wand and an optional shoe attachment.
[02:58.760] When you're finished, all your tools can simply be cleaned with liquid soap, water and a brush. After approximately 30 minutes, depending on the temperature and humidity, the area can be opened back up to traffic.
